Meeting 4 – Dance, Dance, Dance

Make an interactive dance scene, combining music and dance moves.

Follow these directions:

  1. Open the Scratch Editor, login with your jvstudent username and password, and then return to this page by clicking on the tab at the top of the browser.
  2. Open Dance, Dance, Dance  to see the tutorial.
  3. Complete the project by using the tabs to navigate between the tutorial and the work area.
  4. When you are done, name your file, make sure that you are logged in to Scratch with your jvstudent username, and click “Share” if you want to share the project with our Computer Club members. You may also add the project to our Scratch Studio if you wish.

Meeting 3 – Hide-and-Seek Game

Make a hide-and-seek game and then challenge your friends to play it.

  3. Complete the project by using the tabs to navigate between the tutorial and the work area.

Meeting 2 – Animate Your Name

Make your name come to life! Animate the letters by coding in Scratch. Add sound and music too.  Try a new backdrop.

Meeting 1 – Getting Started with Scratch

During this meeting we will learn what Scratch is, what it is used for, and why we ALL might want to learn more about it.

We know we will all have a lot of fun getting acquainted with each other and starting to  develop our own “super powers.”

Spring 2016 Computer Club – First Meeting on February 8

  • We are concentrating on Scratch by beginning with the Getting Started with Scratch tutorial on the online Scratch workspace.  View Spring 2016 Club Schedule.
  • At the second meeting, we will also offer experienced coders the opportunity to enroll in either the Google CS First Music & Sound Club or the CS First Storytelling Club.
