Meeting 1 – Getting Started with Scratch

February 8
Jackson-Via Library

During this meeting we will learn what Scratch is, what it is used for, and why we ALL might want to learn more about it.

Follow these directions:

  1. Open the Scratch Editor, login with your jvstudent username and password, and then return to this page by clicking on the tab at the top of the browser.
  2. Open Getting Started with Scratch  to see the tutorial.
  3. Complete the project by using the tabs to navigate between the tutorial and the work area.
  4. Complete the project by using the tabs to navigate between the tutorial and the work area.
  5. When you are done, name your file, make sure that you are logged in to Scratch with your jvstudent username, and click “Share” if you want to share the project with our Computer Club members. You may also add the project to the Scratch Studio if you wish.

We know we will all have a lot of fun getting acquainted with each other and starting to  develop our own “super powers.”
